Sunday Nostalgia Fun Day

Sunday, 16th July 2017 at 10am - 5pm

Location: Brewhouse Theatre

This event is in the past.

It’s time to dust off those ‘Eroica’, classic, or unusual bikes. A small prize will be given. You can join us on your normal bike of course. The ride will be at a gentle pace and shorter than most, around 20 miles in total and designed to allow some of the less energetic riders in our group to participate.

I cannot promise no hills at all, but the ride will be undulating and leisurely through the country lanes to Bishops Lydeard, with plenty of time for chatting, or for any mechanical problems that we hope will not arise.

In Bishops Lydeard we will visit The Mill and Rural Life Museum. For those who have been before, I have been told a lot has been added over the years, so a new experience for all. Visit www.bishopslydeardmill.co.uk for further details. Entry cost - £6 Adult, £5 Seniors. All takings go to five nominated charities and if you show your ticket in the Tearoom, you get a discount. I anticipate spending around an hour at the Mill.

Lunch will be after a short ride to The West Somerset Railway Station Tearoom, serving pasties, pies, sandwiches and cakes with hot and cold drinks. We may see some steam trains if we are lucky.

Suitably refreshed we will have a gentle ride back to Taunton via Halse, Oake, Hillfarrance and Allerford (with an option to stop for a drink at The Anchor Inn, or The Allerford Inn if riders wish).

It will be a short ride to Bishops Hull where the ride will end.
