Down (and up!) in Dorset

Saturday, 12th May 2012 at 8:30am - 5:30pm

This event is in the past.

A hilly 40 mile ride in north-west Dorset. We'll drive out to Goose Slade Farm near East Coker and from there we'll ride to Sherborne, taking in a small fraction of the views and historic sights that this part of the world has to offer.

We'll stop for a rest once we've tackled the worst of the hills, so bring a snack or two to recover your strength. Nothing's arranged for lunch: bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful architecture that the town has to offer, or make yourself comfortable in any of its excellent coffee shops and pubs. Cream teas and cakes will be on offer back at Goose Slade Farm before the drive home.

You can make your own way to the start or book a place on the club's trailer (£5 per bike) - priority goes to those who don't have access to their own transport. Leave a comment if you want a lift or contact Jo S.

Meet at 8.30am in the car park opposite the County Cricket Ground by the new Viridor building (the one by the bridge we use to cross the Canal when we set off in that direction).

I would like a space on the trailer for my bike, and one in a car for me ...... please.

Are we starting the day off with coffee and cake at goose slade farm or is there not enough time for that ?
